Transportation In Toronto: Union Pearson Express Train
The Union Pearson Express (UP Express) offers an economical transportation option from Pearson Airport (Toronto YYZ) that efficiently connects travelers to downtown Toronto. With a travel time of just 25 minutes, the UP Express is a smart choice for those looking to save money while enjoying a comfortable ride from the Toronto airport. In addition to the UP Express, the Toronto train schedule provides regular service to various destinations across the city, making it easy to plan your journey. For those who prefer bus travel, the Toronto bus schedule complements the train service, offering convenient routes that cover a wide area. This integrated transit system allows newcomers and visitors to navigate Toronto seamlessly, ensuring that getting around the city is both affordable and straightforward.
Fare
A one-way ticket from Pearson to Union Station costs $12.35. If you have a Presto card, the fare is only $9.25, making it a great choice for both residents and visitors.
What is a Presto Card?
A Presto card is a reloadable, contactless card you can use on public transit in Ontario, including in Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Ottawa. Kind of like a Toronto CityPass. Here are some discounts available for users:
- Youth and post-secondary students get 40% off the adult fare.
- Children under 12 ride for free.
Where Does the Train Stop?
The UP Express has two main stops in Toronto:
Bloor Station:
- Address: 1456 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON M6P 4A9
- Connects to Subway Line 2 (Green Line) to travel anywhere in downtown Toronto, including popular places to visit in Toronto.
Union Station:
- Address: 140 Bay St., Toronto, ON M5J 2L5
- Connects to Subway Line 1 (Yellow Line) for access to downtown Toronto, nearby the Royal Ontario Museum Toronto and other Toronto tourist attractions.
Note: Weston Station (1865 Weston Rd, York, ON M9N 1V9) does not go to downtown Toronto.
UP Express Schedule
Trains run every 15 minutes, seven days a week. Here’s the schedule:
- Monday to Friday:
- First train to Union: 5:27 am
- Last train to Union: 11:27 pm
- Weekends and Holidays:
- First train to Union: 6:27 am
- Last train to Union: 11:27 pm

You can buy tickets in two ways:
- At the Station: There are ticket vending machines at most stations.
How to Board the Train
UP Express Platform: The UP Express platform is located ONLY at Terminal 1. If you arrive at Terminal 3, you need to go to Terminal 1 to catch the train.
