Who Do We help

Our target audience includes newcomers who have arrived in the past year with limited language skills and feel isolated due to the lack of family or friends in Canada. Newcomers Union was founded by immigrants, with our senior chairman and board members all having immigrated to Canada from various countries bringing a diverse range of experiences and perspectives. The organization was established during the pandemic when we recognized that newcomers were facing multiple challenges, such as high living expenses and the profound loneliness of being far from their home countries.

In the beginning, our focus was on creating a sense of community through organizing events like career seminars, educational workshops, social gatherings, and professional networking opportunities. These events provided a platform for newcomers to connect, share their experiences, and support each other. As we saw the positive impact of these initiatives, we realized the need for a more structured approach to address the ongoing challenges faced by newcomers.

This realization led us to officially register as a non-profit organization, allowing us to expand our efforts and provide more comprehensive assistance. Our mission is to support newcomers in their transition to a new country by offering resources, guidance, and a strong community network. We aim to help them navigate the complexities of their new environment, find employment opportunities, access educational resources, and build meaningful social connections.

Through our dedicated programs and initiatives, we strive to empower newcomers to overcome obstacles, achieve their goals, and thrive in their new homes. Our commitment is to ensure that every newcomer feels welcomed, supported, and connected, fostering a sense of belonging and community that transcends borders.
